Heathrow drive-thru - restaurant upgrade
One of the most noticeable changes to our restaurant estate over recent years has been seen through our Re-Imaging programme. By year end 2009, we will have Re-Imaged approximately 600 restaurants, made up of both company and franchisee stores, on both the high street and in our drive-thrus.
From 2005 we focused largely on our high streets, transforming the look of our restaurants. The new design combines painted wall finishes with a range of different tones, providing a backdrop for large format abstract graphics. Feature chairs complete the decor package and create an eye catching design concept.
From 2007, we turned our attention to the drive-thru estate, focusing on the interior and exterior of the buildings, including new patio furniture and new landscaping. The interior designs are a mix of vibrant colours, low and high level bench seating and booth seating areas, providing our customers with different seating zones to choose from.
Heathrow Harlington Restaurant has received the upgraded McDonald's European Designed 'Roof Concept'. The current roof structure has been over clad utilising a light weight Alpolic Sheet Cladding, use of vertical timbers on the corner junctures and rendering to the building in specific areas to enhance the impact of the new roof design. This gives the building great brand identity and prominence from the main arterial route. In addition, the external customer seating area has also been uplifted with new design patio furniture and lighting and new landscaping introduced to compliment the scheme in total'.
Our Re-imaging programme is on-going and we plan to complete the estate by 2012.
Swindon Orbital Centre - a new acquisition
We recently acquired this restaurant situated on the Northern Orbital ring route which is the primary route through North Swindon. The restaurant is adjacent to ASDA at the entrance to the Orbital Shopping Centre. The retail park itself is the strongest retail park along the Northern Orbital road and our restaurant sits alongside other retailers such as Next, Boots and Borders.
Stansted A120 drive-thru - a new acquisition
We recently acquired the Stansted A120 drive-thru, a prominent roadside site fronting onto the A120 dual carriageway. This restaurant offers a fantastic location as it is adjacent to the junction for Stansted Airport and accessible from both carriageways of the A120, serving the passengers and employees of Stansted airport. The restaurant forms part of the services and is adjacent to a BP Petrol Filling Station, 183 bed Holiday Inn Express hotel and opposite the Stansted Airport Mid-term Parking which has approximately 5,200 spaces.
