Ben Kilner: Snowboarder
Ben Kilner is 17 years old and is a champion snowboarder from Banchory, Scotland. He has won gold at the British Snowboard and Freestyle Ski Championships. He also won the British Youth Half Pipe Championships - despite his wrist being broken at the time. He is also a black belt in Ju Jitsu.
Ben says of the McDonald's Olympic hopefuls team "It is great to be part of the great aspiring Olympians, to be able to work with them and find out more about how they train for their sports. I am looking forward to meeting young people and talking to them about all the different ways you can think about what you eat and the activities you do, to help lead a more balanced lifestyle."
Ben's Career highlights to date:
- 2001-2005 - British Junior Half Pipe champion
- 2005- Junior Winter Olympics Switzerland, 8th
- 2005 - World Championships 2005, 36th place in Half Pipe against the world's best seniors
- 2005 - Senior Slopestyle competition Colorado, 2nd
- 2005 - Junior World Championships (half pipe), 3rd in his age group and 24th overall.
