Zoë Gillings: Snowboardcross Rider
Zoë Gillings is the British No.1 snowboardcross rider. Born and bred on the Isle of Man, Zoë started skiing when she was 4 yrs old and first strapped a board to her feet at the age of ten. She has dominated the youth and junior category of the sport for the last nine years and, in 2006, took part in her first Winter Olympics in Turin.
Zoë says of her role with McDonald's Olympic hopefuls: 'It's so important to get young people thinking about their lifestyles at as early an age as possible. Plus I really hope that I can play some part in showing people that you can help keep fit and healthy by taking part in a wide range of activities including those you might not traditionally think of - like snowboarding.'
