Our food: Potatoes
Our potatoes
Our famous French Fries are made from only the best quality potatoes such as Russet Burbank, Shepody and Pentland Dell.
Supporting British farmers
In 2007, 290 British producers provided us with 145,000 tonnes of potatoes, from the early crop in the West to the main crop in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
Ensuring freshness
When the crops reach maturity they are harvested and either turned into our French Fries within hours or stored in environmentally-controlled sheds until they're needed.
Traceability
After the potatoes leave the farm, they're taken to a potato plant. Each lorry load has to show its own passport before it's allowed onto the premises.
Making sure they taste just right
After being cut, we test small batches - cooking the fries exactly the way we do in our restaurants, to make sure they're going to taste the way you like them.
