All of the milk used in our restaurants is British milk sourced from British and Irish farms and all our bottled milk is semi-skimmed organic.

GM free

The organic farmers who supply us don't use GM feed or artificial pesticides in fields where their cows graze.

Traceability

We can trace the milk that we use in our restaurants back to the farms where it came from.

Full of goodness

Milk contains nearly all of the daily vitamins recommended to incorporate in our daily diets, including vitamins A,B and C.

    • Fresh organic semi skimmed milk is a great choice with your child's Happy Meal. The calcium in milk helps build strong bones and teeth!
    • Organic semi-skimmed milk sourced from farms in Britain and Ireland. Organic milk has higher levels of vitamin E, antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids than regular milk.

Your questions answered

  How come you don't use 100% organic milk in your milkshakes?

Organic milk is still a relatively small industry in the UK and McDonald's simply can't find a supplier that can meet the high volume demands. The company is in talks with the dairy industry about how it can facilitate more farmers switching to organic but, until the organic food supply chain can guarantee that it can supply the required amount, McFlurries, Sundaes and Milkshakes will continue to be made from non-organic milk from the British Isles. Currently all our tea and coffee is served with British organic semi skimmed milk and you can also purchase it in bottles to enjoy with your meal.

Will you be adding any more organic options on to your menu?

McDonald's is always interested in looking at new and improved options for customers and has made changes such as the recent introduction of semi-skimmed organic milk in bottles and organic milk in coffee. However, it can be challenging to find suppliers that have the experience and the resources to be able to supply the kind of volumes and standards that McDonald's demands. If such opportunities present themselves, then McDonald's will of course consider them.
