Helping to keep Britain tidy
McDonald's restaurants operate very much as part of their local community and quite naturally, therefore, take pride in the appearance of the local environment.
Our commitment to our local communities is to tackle litter in as many different ways as we can.
Your questions answered

Who picks up the rubbish left outside your restaurants?- We do. Across the UK, members of staff from our restaurants go out at least three times a day to pick up not only McDonald's packaging, but also any other litter. We are also one of the country's biggest sponsors of council litter bins, and provide bins outside all McDonald's restaurants.

What measures do you take to stop people littering the streets with your packaging?- We provide litter bins outside all McDonald's restaurants and the company is one of the biggest sponsors of council provided bins in the country. Also all McDonald's packaging carries an anti-littering symbol supported by signage in restaurants and car parks.
