The FA Community Shield 2007 was McDonald's sixth one as Official Presenting Partner and the highlight of McDonald's year-round community football coaching programme in partnership with The FA.

McDonald's is providing more opportunities for more children to receive qualified coaching to play and enjoy the national game, and the match was a great opportunity to recognise those thousands of football volunteers who deliver football to youngsters in communities everyday.
Over 1,000 of the 9,500 volunteer community coaches that McDonald's has already helped create in England attended this years match which saw Manchester United triumph over Chelsea to win 1 -1 (3 - 0) on penalties.

McDonald's is now working to retain and grow the number of volunteer coaches to leave a legacy in communities that will last for years to come.
In a break from tradition, this year's Man of the Match, Ashley Cole, received a donation of coaching kit and equipment to five local schools courtesy of McDonald's.
Also attending the match were 22 boys and girls who were given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lead the players out as McDonald's Player Escorts. The youngsters were from teams coached by volunteers that qualified through McDonald's.

Plus, The FA Learning/ McDonald's Grassroots Coach of the Year 2007 was unveiled at the match. Steve Pritchard from Nottingham beat off stiff competition from 1,800 other community coaches to win grassroots football's top honour and receive his prize from Sir Geoff Hurst and Sir Trevor Brooking.
McDonald's football ambassadors - Sir Geoff Hurst, Kenny Dalglish, Pat Jennings and Eric Harrison - were also on hand to watch the action and meet as many of the community coaches as possible.
