ZOE GILLINGS

September, 2006

Zoe's been busy this summer, winning championships, helping out the next generation of snowboarders and also perfecting her skills!.

In August, Zoe was crowned Champion at the British Indoor Snowboard Cross Championships held at the Milton Keynes Snow Dome.

Earlier that month, she attended the British team selection training camp in Zermatt, Switzerland. She enjoyed this tremendously and especially because it included spending time with the current crop of talented youngsters coming through into the sport.

She spent June in the USA at a British team training camp where as well as further snowboard cross trainer she learnt how to do rails (sliding along metal or wooden obstacles placed on the snow) which is another discipline of snowboarding.

"It's been a good year - some wins, some great training camps and also the chance to inspire the talented young kids that are currently coming through the sport. That's really important if the sport is to continue to grow."
