Kate has continued making waves in 2006! Her year opened with success at this year's Commonwealth Games in Melbourne where she won a Silver medal in 4x100m medley relay.
In August at The European Championships in Budapest she won Silver in the 50m breaststroke and came 4th in the 100m breaststroke.
These fantastic successes mean that she has qualified for the European 2006 Short Course Championships taking place in December, as well as the 2007 World Championships taking place in Melbourne in March.
"Although it has been a slightly disappointing year for me in terms of not getting any personal bests, I am very positive about next year's Worlds. I am now looking forward to training in Singapore and Australia for about six week."
