WADE BENNETT-JACKSON

September, 2006

It was a tough start to the year for Wade owing to not one, but three injuries to contend with. However, at the World Junior Championships in Beijing in August, Wade clocked the fastest 100m sprint time of the whole championships and a personal best of 10.33 during the early rounds. He also triumphantly teamed up with Harry Aikines-Aryeety, Alex Nelson and Rion Pierre to win the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 metre relay.

His fingers are crossed that he remains injury free so that he can be ready for the European Indoor Championships which take place in Birmingham in March 2007.

"At the World Junior Championships in Beijing, it was a bit frustrating that my best time came in the first round! The European Indoors is my next big goal and my form in Beijing has given me an added boost for when it comes to running 60m indoors, and I think I am capable of running 6.5-6.6."
