London gets most stylish McDonald's in the world
The world's most stylish McDonald's gets its official 'society' launch today in the pages of fashion bible Vogue.
The restaurant on The Stand in London has been made over as a top class style venue and is the setting for a fashion shoot in this month's issue. The company chose Vogue because it wants to attract London's glitterati to the stunning restaurant which is already a hit with hundreds of customers since it re-opened.
"The luxury new look offers customers the chance to dine in high style surroundings for a fraction of the cost. In terms of ladies who lunch we think we can give Harvey Nichols or The Ivy a run for their money and they'll have more cash left for the latest trends in Vogue," said restaurant spokesperson, Amanda Pierce.
"We always have our fair share of stars in restaurants all over the country but we believe even more of the beautiful people will come to The Strand once they see it in Vogue. We're aiming for it to become a star spotter's paradise."
The restaurant look is a combination of chrome, leather armchairs, retro-seating, glass and sophisticated lighting techniques. The makeover is the flagship of a major programme of re-designs taking place in 40 restaurants across the UK.
McDonald's hired a Vogue model, Vogue photographer and magazine stylists to stage their shoot in the ultra-cool basement area in the restaurant. This month's edition features the fashion shoot over four pages with catwalk model Olivia Inge showing off this season's latest looks.
A veteran of the catwalks of Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent and Givenchy, Olivia got her usual fee and a free McDonald's meal.
