Jill McDonald

North West Division President and Chief Executive Officer, McDonald’s UKIn January 2014, as part of changes to the McDonald’s Europe organisation structure, Jill McDonald was appointed President of the newly created North West Division. This move saw Jill take on additional responsibility for Germany (McDonald’s largest market in Europe) and Luxembourg, in addition to Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Ireland and the UK.

Through the Managing Directors across her division, Jill is responsible for identifying opportunity and leading the strategic scale of growth-driving initiatives across the eight European markets within the North West Division.

Jill joined McDonald’s UK in 2006 as Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer and was voted ‘Marketer of the Year’ by the Marketing Society in 2008. Appointed UK CEO in 2010, under Jill’s leadership the UK has delivered strong results, growing sales and profitability, and built brand trust.

Jill holds a 1st class Business Studies degree from Brighton University & began her marketing career at Colgate Palmolive as a graduate trainee. She joined British Airways as a Brand Manager in 1990 and during her 16 years there she held a number of senior marketing positions in the UK and overseas.

In June 2013 Jill was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Inter-Continental Hotel Group (IHG), serving on the Audit and Nominations Committees of the IHG Board.

Jill was born in Birmingham, brought up in Sevenoaks, and is married with two sons.
