This year’s FA Community Shield sponsored by McDonald’s saw Premier League champions Manchester City FC defeat FA Cup Winners Chelsea on 12 August 2012 at Villa Park. Manchester City won 3-2 thanks to goals from Yaya Toure, Carlos Tevez and Samir Nasri to win the Community Shield for the first time since 1972.
