McDonald’s has ranked eighth on a list of the 25 Best Multinational Companies to Work For in the World.

In a ceremony held today in New York, the global restaurant company was recognised as one of the world’s best companies to work for by the Great Place to Work® Institute - the world’s largest annual study of workplace excellence.

McDonalds was awarded the global accolade after already achieving Best Workplace status in 18 other countries, including the UK, Central America, France, Brazil and other nations in Europe and South America.

Commenting on the award, Jez Langhorn, Vice President, People, McDonald’s UK said:

“We have worked hard to build an industry-leading range of initiatives that help support and motivate our people in their jobs. Whether it’s by offering them transferable, nationally-recognised qualifications, flexible working options or opportunities to progress quickly, we know that employee engagement is key to having a loyal and confident workforce who are committed to providing the best possible service to the two and a half million customers we serve in the UK every day.

“Being ranked eighth on the list of Best Multinational Companies in the World is great recognition for our business and will increase employee pride and commitment right across McDonald’s. We’re delighted to share part of this recognition here in the UK.”

Tom O’Byrne, Chief Executive of the Great Place to Work ® in the UK said:

“I am particularly delighted that McDonald’s has achieved a place on the Best Multinational Workplaces list. With only 25 companies in the world awarded this prestigious accolade McDonald’s achievement is a testament to their world-beating leadership and commitment to creating a great workplace for their employees.

“Indeed, it is the support of everyone who works at McDonald’s which has lead to them being recognised as one of the world’s best.”
